A sure sign that summer has arrived. Thieves are targeting boats.
Orillia OPP investigating the theft of a new boat and trailer sometime between Wednesday and Thursday in Ramara Township.
Police report three local businesses were the targeted.
The first two were attempted break and enters.
The third attempt saw the theft of a brand new boat and trailer.
The boat is described as a 2011 BRYANT fibreglass bow rider, 22 feet in length, cream coloured with a grey stripe and black pin striping. Grey canvas covered the bow and cockpit.
Chrome lettering of the word BRYANT is visible near the stern.
The powerboat had a Mercury Inboard/Outboard motor.
The matching tandem trailer is described as a 2011 Moonlight, grey in colour with aluminum step plates near the fenders of the trailer.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Orillia OPP.
