Lots of people will be making a big splash in Orillia Saturday morning.
That is when more than 50 swimmers will plunge into Lake Couchiching in support of Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
Amanda Montgomery is with the Hosptial Foundation and says this years swim is to raise money for equipment and programs at the Hospital.
She says last event attracted over 50 swimmers from across Canada and raised over $15,000.
A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. from the Fern Resort dock.
From there the swimmers will cross Lake Couchiching a distance of four kilometres and end up on the shores of Couchiching Beach Park.
Montgomery says that the swim attracts swimmers from not just the Orillia area, but even some from the US as well who use this as a training event for other swim competitions.
A brunch and awards ceremony will follow hosted by Leslie Michaels from Sunshine 89.1.
