It was a perfect day for a swim across Lake Couchiching on Saturday and it as a perfect fundraising event for the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
This past weekends Sun City Swim raised almost 20 thosuand dollars for the Hospital.
This year there were more swimmers involved in the event as well, 53 people jumped into the lake to take part.
Last years evet saw about 50 swimmers raise $15,000 for the OSMH Foundation, which uses the proceeds to supply the hospital with new equipment.
Funds raised will be used for the purchase of big-ticket items such as diagnostic imaging equipment and ventilators for the neonatal intensive care unit, as well as going towards day-to-day items such as beds and blankets.
