A fire at the main end in Wasaga Beach has forced the closure of Mosley and River Road at the Main Street Bridge overnight.
Crews were called just before ten o’clock Sunday, to a store near the Main Street Bridge.
The clothing store, called ‘The Corner Store’ was vacant according to Wasaga Beach Fire Chief Mike McWilliam.
Two Wasaga firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze. The flames are now out.
Chief McWilliam says he has alerted the Fire Marshall’s Office about the fire, but won’t know for a few hours whether they will send an investigator to the scene.
The Fire Chief isn’t saying whether he considers the blaze suspicious, but does say the OPP will hold the scene until a cause can be determined.
McWilliam says there was some confusion about the location of the fire when the call first came in, which left him with a feeling of ‘deja vu’, from the five million dollar blaze that devastated the main end in November of 2007.
A man from Barrie received a two year jail sentence and three years probation after pleading guilty to arson charges in connection with that fire.
