Lakehead University here in Orillia will be strutting its reasearch stuff tomorrow as they put on their Summer Research Showcase.
A group of Lakehead University students, along with their professors, will showcase the Universitys summer research projects with a special display and presentation tomorrow at Orillias University Avenue campus.
The featured projects are part of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and support the Universitys research focus on community sustainability.
Current research within the Biology Department examines ways to improve the health of Lake Simcoe and the surrounding watershed, while other research projects investigate the use of biodegradable plastics, climate change and the chemical pollution of water and soil.
In the area of Media Studies, a study of media coverage examines free speech issues at the Toronto G20 protests in June 2010.
The showcase takes place between 12:30 – 1:30 this afternoon.
