Ontario Provincial Police still searching for a suspected rapist who almost killed an Orillia woman during a brutal sexual assault behind the downtown Metro store a week ago.
Police now believe the suspect may be linked to the murder of Orangeville nurse Sonia Varaschin.
Orillia OPP have issued a grainy mugshot and video of a suspect, hoping the images will generate tips from the public.
In a release last week, Police say The woman was walking by the loading docks behind the store around 2 a.m. when she was attacked and assaulted,
Officers said it was a daring, brutal attack during which the victim could have died.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspect as he was leaving the scene.
He is described as white, with a stocky build and about 5-foot-9. He was wearing socks, shoes, a dark shirt and a light-coloured ball cap.
