This Sunday marks the 10 anniversary of the 9 11 attacks on the world trade centre in New York and Pentagon in Washington.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic School board Friday will take time to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Prayers will be offered and students will be asked to reflect on peace, compassion and forgiveness.
Director of Education Brian Beal says different prayers have been developed for the elementary and secondary level.
He says everyone remembers where they were that day and today they are asking students and staff to pray for the victims, families survivors and for peace and understanding.
Beal also says students will be taught the important of all religions understanding each other and their common beliefs and the need to separate terrorism from religion.
