A new poll finds Ontario is likely headed for a minority government for the first time since 1985.
The Forum Research Survey – published in the Toronto Star – polled over 40 thousand people and found the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives are deadlocked.
The two parties were separated by only 107 respondents, each holding even with 35 percent support.
According to the survey, the NDP hold 23 percent while the Green Party holds 5 percent.
The numbers were broken down riding by riding , and the results show that 28 percent of the ridings were too close to call.
In Simcoe North – the Conservatives have 40 percent support, followed by the Liberals at 29 percent, the NDP at 22 percent, and the Green Party at 9 percent.
In Simcoe Grey – the Tories have a comfortable lead at 48 percent, followed by the Liberals at 28 percent, the NDP at 14 percent, and the Green Party at 9 percent.
In Bruce Grey Owen Sound – the Progressive Conservatives have 39 percent support followed by the Liberals at 31 percent , and NDP at 18 percent and the Green Party at 11 percent.
In Huron Bruce – the Tories have 42 percent support, followed by the Liberals at nearly 26 percent, the NDP at 25 percent, and the Green Party at 5 percent.
With more than 40 thousand respondents, this is one of the largest polling samples in Canadian history.
