This weekend marks the First Annual Downtown Orillia Harvest Festival.
Lisa Thomson-Roop – Manager of the Orillia Downtown Management Board – says they have been trying to come up with another downtown festival with the intent of officially closing out the summer season on a high note.
Roop says one of the unique events happening Saturday is the Harvest Hounds contest – thats where you dress up your dog in some sort of harvest-themed costume.
Other highlights include hayrides, live entertainment, kids activities, and a chilli cook-off.
The Downtown Orillia Havest Festival begins Saturday morning (Oct 1) at 10 AM on Mississaga Street and wraps up at 7 PM.
