Orillia Council has been advised to start promoting its green infrastructure.
That came from the Executive Director of the Couchiching Conservancy at Monday nights council meeting.
Mark Bisset says the city’s lakes, wetlands, parks, wild lands and trail system attract people to the community.
He says when communities areĀ looking for an edge that distinguishes Orillia from other communities competing for economic development, sound green infrastructure should be one of the main features of any promotion.
Bisset also applauded Council for moving quickly back in 2008 to work with the Conservancy to ensure that Scout Valley will be protected as a wilderness area for the next 100 years.
