Its a chance to support a local Historic site with a toast and some food.
The Leacock Museum here in Orillia hosting the Orillia Wine Beer and Spirits fair this Saturday.
Fred Addis is the Museum curator and event organizer and says hospitality at the Stephen Leacock Home is a natural extension of what Leacock himself did when he was living here and in Montreal.
He says Leacock was a great at entertaining celebrities and the rich and famous.
Addis says the Orillia Wine,Beer and Spirits fair is a tip of the hat to Leacock and the immense pleasure he derived from having friends and family come to call.
He says with fall colours coming out and the promise of a sunny day on Saturday, the Leacock home is the perfect venue for an event like this.
In addition to sampling numerous beverages, people will be able to taste numerous specialty foods.
Addis says money raised from this event goes towards the museums upkeep and improvements.
