Lots of action out on lake simcoe and couchiching this weekend as the biggest bass fishing tournament in canada gets under way out of the port of Orillia.
John White is the Publisher of On the Water Canada and says this tournament attracts anglers from not just acorss canada but from around the world.He says anglers come from the U.S. and even as far away as Japan.He says says this is one of the largest bass fishing tournaments in north america and brings millions of dollars into the local Orillia economy
White says there is a good reason the tournament takes place out of the port of Orillia. He says its a good protected port and allows the anglers to safely launch their boats.The anglers cast off around 8 tomorrow morning and the weigh in for the largest bass begins at couchiching beach park around 2.30 tomorrow afternoon.
