Orillia City Council has restarted the process of finding a new city manager.
Councillor Michael Fogarty presented the motion calling on Council to re-engage the recruiting firm Odgers Berndston to resume the search.
The motion calls for approval of the hiring criteria and job advertisement to take place in the public during the month of November – which will allow for Odgers Berndston to advertise, shortlist, and present to a closed session Council Committee which would allow the committee to potentially interview candidates in early February.
The end result would be an offer of employment in early 2012.
Councillors speaking on the motion voiced their general approval of the motion as it would allow the recruiting process to continue while City Council moves on with other business – including budget discussions.
