Orillia getting ready to honour three more outstanding members of the community.
The Orillia Hall of Fame Committee November 4th will be honouring a banker, sportsman and Broadcaster.
Committee ChairĀ Dave Town says John Boyle, who rose to become CEO of the TD bank will be honoured as well as Robert Curran, three time North American Rowing champion along with Taylor “Hap” Parnaby who is one of Canada’s best broadcast journalists.
He says the committee has been around since 1964 and members of the community submit names of people they think should be honoured.
Town says the Hall of Fame recognizes citizens of Orillia, past and present who have obtained national or international recognition in various endeavours.
The Hall of Fame portraits arehanging in City Hall, and Town says they distribute a booklet with biographies of each memberĀ to every classroom in Orillia so students can know the history of people who helped build this city.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Friday November 4th at 7.30 at the Orillia Council chambers.
