The Provincial Election may be over, the there is another campaign underway and that is the for the job of Speaker at the Legislature.
Four Liberal MPP’s are in the running including Donna Cansfield, who is seeking to become the first woman speaker of the Legislature.
Cansfield already has won over the support of Simcoe North Conservative MPP Garfield Dunlop.
He says he knows Cansfield very well as she has helped with several projects in the riding when she was Transportation Minister.
Dunlop says all four candidates for the Speakers job make a presentation to the Conservative Caucus last week and he thought Cansfield did the best job.
He also says having Cansfield elected as speaker would be good news for all the women MPP in the legislature and women in general right across the province.
Dunlop says he expects Cansfield to be elected speaker and says she will do a very good job.
