It was time to honour and recognize the dedication actions and achievements of OPP officers and civilian employees and members of the public.
OPP Held the General Headquarters awards in Orillia yesterday.
OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis handed out the awards and says these awards were for the General Headquarters staff here in Orillia.
He says these are more of the behind the scenes folks who have helped in major investigations.
Lewis says this was a big day for the recipients and their families were also there to help share the honours.
He says there is a special committee that examine potential award recipients and its not just officers who are honoured, but civilians as well.
This event is one of a number of annual events held across the province.
