The investigation into a house fire early yesterday morning, in Orillia, continues.
Firefighters were called to a home on Peter Street N at around 6 A.M.
Peter Street N was closed between Neywash and Coldwater, for a good part of the day.
Orillia Fire Chief Ralph Domenilli says the first floor of the unit suffered some heavy heat and smoke damage. He says there was also smoke damage on the second floor of the home. The flames traveled up to the attic and crews had to contain the blaze there.
Domenilli says there were two occupants in the first floor apartment. He says both suffered injuries as a result of the fire and are being treated at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
Domenilli says the investigation into the cause of the fire is in its early stages. He says the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office arrived at the scene yesterday and are looking into the cause of the fire. And he says the O-P-P are also conducting an investigation.
