Police have now released the name of the young woman killed in a two vehicle collision on the Horseshoe Valley Road earlier this morning.
18 year old Amber Gailbraih of Coldwater died when the car she was in, slide sideways into an oncoming vehicle heading up the westbound hill near the resort.
OPP Constable George Selvistri says the road was snow covered and slippery at the time and excessive speed also was a factor in the collision.
The person driving the second vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Selvestri says Galbraith lost control of the Ford Focus she was driving while coming down the hill eastbound, toward Orillia and t-boned a Toyota Camry heading westbound.
Horseshoe Valley Road, between was closed for four-and-a-half hours following the collision while the OPP technical traffic investigators conducted an investigation.
