Let it snow Let it snow Let it snow.
That is the Christmas song coming from all of the Simcoe County Ski Resorts after the mild weather of this week.
Several are planning on opening up for business this weekend.
Both Blue Mountain in Collingwood and Horseshoe Valley resort in Oro Medonte are planning on having their lifts running this weekend as will Mount St. Louis in Moonstone.
Mount St. Louis General Manager Robert Huter says they are just itching for the cold weather and when the temperatures dips, they can fire up about 100 snow guns.
He says that will allow them to make snow on about four trails at a time.
Huter says if they can make snow for 24 to 36 hours they could very well have up to 7 or 8 trails open up.
He says over the summer they constructed a large storage facility for water for snow making and as a result that if they get four or five days of cold weather, they now will be able to make snow at full capacity.
Huter says before that they would have to slow down after about two days.
He says when all the lifts are operating they can move almost 25 thousand skiers up the hills every hour.
