A fire in a garage near MacLean Lake in Severn Township yesterday caused about $40,000 in damage, according to the Packet Times.
Severn Fire Chief Eric Dowell says the firefighters responded to the blaze at the end of Irish Line shortly after 1am and the two-vehicle garage was fully engulfed.
Chief Dowell says the the house was starting to burn a bit and the heat from the fire had broken the house windows.
More than 20 firefighters put the fire out in about an hour.
Damage to the house was minimal, but the garage which had been used as a workshop and contained tools, snow machines and an ATV was a total loss.
The investigation to determine the cause is ongoing.
