The Gravenhurst Fire Department rescued an 11 yr old snowmobiler last night who was involved in a crash.
It happened on an island in Kahshe Lake.
The department tweeted their progress as the rescue was in progress.
The 11 year old had been doing doughnuts on the ice surface when he lost control of the machine.
The snowmobile went up a steep embankment where it struck a tree then tumbled back down to the ice surface.
The child was wearing a helmet but sustained a broken arm and facial injuries.
He was flown to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto
According to the fire department's tweets, the patient was loaded into the department’s Polar 75 rapid deployment craft and taken to the mainland before being flown out.
