A dramatic rescue in Severn Township Thursday morning after a shed fire spread to theĀ home of a man on Avery Lane.
The fire broke out in a shed, but the high winds pushed it into the near by home.
Severn Township fire chief Eric Dowell says a passing Canada Post worker noticed the flames had spread to the home and alerted the homeowner who was inside at the time, but did not know of the fire.
He escaped the building which was completely destroyed.
Chief Dowell says the blaze broke out around 10 30 in the morning and by the time firefighters arrived the home was fully involved.
Chief Dowell says the damage estimate is in the 250 to 300 thousand dollar range and the cause is still under investigation.
