The father of the 11 year old girl who was found dead last night will be charged with First Degree Murder.
Peel Police issued an Amber Alert after 11 pm Thursday after Riya Rajkumar wasn’t returned to her mother’s home by her father, 41 year old Roopesh Rajkumar.
Riya had been taken out by her father for her birthday Thursday afternoon.
Roopesh Rajkumar, who police say will now be charged with First Degree Murder, was arrested near Orillia on Highway 11 after the discovery of his daughter’s body around midnight on Thursday. Police have confirmed Rajkumar has been hospitalized since his arrest.
