New vehicles were used to smuggle drugs into Canada.
OPP released more information at a news conference on Wednesday on contraband drugs that were concealed in new vehicles built at a Ford plant in Mexico and shipped by rail to Canada.
Police say workers at four Ford dealerships in Ontario are credited with calling police after finding methamphetamine stashed in spare tires that did not match the make and model of Ford Fusions being shipped.
The investigation team grew to include Canada Border Services Agency, police in Quebec and in New Brunswick.
A multi-jurisdictional investigation started in December 2018 and included police in Collingwood and Caledon.
In total, 180 kilograms of meth were found in vehicles shipped to Canada.
