March is Fraud Prevention Month.
Police forces across Ontario are working with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to help people recognize and report fraud.
They say with the tax season upon us, scammers will be trying to convince you they are calling on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency.
These fraudsters will try and scare people into handing over money or face criminal prosecution.
The CRA will never call individuals asking for personal information that they already have on file.
Anyone who gets these types of calls should hang up and contact police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
