A review of regional governments by the province has got some mayors believing it's a code word for amalgamation.
Oro Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes is not one of them. Rather, he believes the Ford government wants to make sure taxpayers are getting the best bang for their buck.
The review includes regional governments and municipalities in the GTA as well as Simcoe County and Muskoka.
He says the County of Simcoe has to prove that its being efficient within the existing structure.
Two advisors appointed by the province to assist with the review are to issue a report this summer.
