The federal government has banned boating in parts of Muskoka due to the flood situation.
Transport Minister Marc Garneau says the decision was taken to protect the safety of people and vessels, and to help first responders do their jobs in flooding conditions.
The public is also urged to stay off all flooded waterways, including those not currently subject to restrictions, to ensure navigational safety, and prevent damage to property and the environment.
The ban applies to Lake Muskoka, the north and south branches of the Muskoka River, and the Moon River.
Individuals who can only access their property by boat are exempted.
Also excempt are boats used for emergencies.
