A new partnership aims to help people with medical conditions, who interact with police.
Ontario Provincial Police and MedicAlert Foundation Canada are teaming up, to give officers 24-7 access to information on vulnerability due to illness or disorders.
Among the subscriber information MedicAlert will provide through its Connect Protect service are triggers, past wandering history among the elderly, and de-escalation techniques.
OPP say the information will help them deal more effectively with investigations like those involving missing persons and barricaded suspects, among others.
The provincewide initiative is being introduced in London today.
