A 94-year-old Barrie man is only a few thousand dollars shy of his goal of raising a million dollars for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Will Dwyer, a World War Two veteran, has been taking part in the annual Terry Fox run since the 1980s, and has raised over $900 thousand so far.
On Saturday a bunch of local fire fighters banded together and walked from CFB Borden to Barrie
with Dwyer on hand as well using his walker. They raised a few thousand more on his behalf.
Dwyer plans to be take part in the Terry Fox run in Barrie in a few weeks using a scooter to help him along.
