Garbage and recycling collection continues to be delayed across Simcoe County.
It says the contractor, Waste Connections, continues to experience labour challenges, which is ultimately impacting the number of drivers and trucks on the road each day.
Unfortunately, there is an industry wide labour shortage of truck drivers across Ontario and Canada.
In order to help minimize delays the County has taken the following steps:
-Prioritizing garbage and organics, which has led to delays with recycling
-Securing the services of other waste collection companies to help fill empty routes each day
-and returning to most delayed areas on Fridays and Saturdays each week
