Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP have been busy investigating numerous vehicle collisions this month.
It says since November 1, officers have investigated more than 50 crashes on area roads.
Police say drivers continue to be caught off guard as they travel on snow and icy covered roadways as nearly 50 percent of these crashes are caused by drivers driving too fast for road conditions.
Another significant cause of crashes are wildlife on the roadway being struck as drivers deal with reduced visibility due to snow and the hours of darkness arriving earlier in the evening.
Officers wish to remind drivers to be mindful of winter conditions and allow extra time to get to their destination, so you can drive to the road conditions.
