A 10-year-old child has been found dead in a residence in the Allandale Heights area of Barrie.
City police say they were called to a house in the area of Bayview Drive and Little Avenue on New Year’s Eve to check on a person’s well being.
When officers entered the residence, they discovered the body of the child.
The 47-year-old mother, was also found inside the home and was taken to a hospital, where she remains.
No other details have been released, but police say there is no risk to public safety.
