Toronto Pop-Punk band The Downcast specialize in creating catchy, fun songs the listener can connect with. They released Trouble at the Surfcomber, their first EP, in 2018. It was produced by Alan Day of Four Year Strong. Very reminiscent of the nineties, their music is light and chill, with many humorous elements . The high-pitched, cutting singing, very typical of pop punk, sits on top of bright guitar riffs, creating energy, memorable choruses, and a fun atmosphere for the listener. They are on rotation on Max FM, and were semi finalists on the 2023 Battle of the Bands.
