From Barrie, Dead Mechanics stand out through their love of live performance, and the energy they bring to the stage. To them, every live show is a party. They are even known for bringing audience members on stage during a show. When writing their music, they prefer to focus on the jam or vibe of a song rather than trying to get a specific sound. This translates well to their recordings, where emotional guitar riffs, an energetic rhythm section and hard-edged vocals combine to create a raw sound that is unique to them.
Making their debut in 2008, they have one album and three EPs out, and recently played the Gusapolooza music festival. They were a semi-finalist in the 2024 Barrie Battle of the Bands, and two of their songs are on Max FM: Seattle and Broken Cities.
