PRIOR: An update on a very serious multi-vehicle collision in Orillia which has shut down all Hwy 11 lanes today between Coldwater Road and Line 15.
OPP are asking the public to avoid all unnecessary travel on roadways where visibility and road conditions are poor due to weather. Police say secondary routes are becoming backed up too due to the highway closure.
People who have been in a collision today on Hwy 11 shouldn’t get out of their vehicles in order to remain safe due to the poor visibility, they add.
Some serious injuries have been reported.
OPP say those those who aren’t injured are being taken to Orillia’s Rotary Place at 100 University Avenue to keep warm.
