Health Canada says that children aged 5-11 can get the Pfizer COVID booster.
Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo made the announcement on behalf of Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, saying that it’s important for everyone with underlying health problems to keep their vaccines up-to-date.
Children between the ages of 5-11 are the lowest-vaccinated age group at only 42 percent.
The highest uptake is the over-80-year-old crowd, at 99 percent.
Everyone else over the age of 12 is at 83 percent vaccination.
