Every community in Ontario is now in Stage 2 of the province’s reopening plan.
Premier Doug Ford has said the towns of Leamington and Kingsville could begin to reopen today.
The two towns were held back by the province after several major outbreaks of novel coronavirus infection among migrant farm workers in the area.
However Ford said yesterday that outbreaks in the community have been contained, and community transmission is low.
Meanwhile, if you’re planning to visit Toronto anytime soon masks and face coverings are now mandatory in enclosed public places.
The fine for not complying is one-thousand dollars.
Children under the age of two and people with a medical condition don’t have to comply with the bylaw, which applies only to indoor spaces accessible to the public, including stores, malls, recreation centres, libraries, places of worship and entertainment venues.
As of tomorrow at 12:01am, Leamington and Kingsville will join the province in entering Stage 2 of reopening.
Thank you to the great people of these two regions who have worked together with us during this difficult period. pic.twitter.com/HhQHzW8V5o
