Three people have been charged in connection to an opioid overdose that killed a man in Alliston.
On January 30th 2020, OPP responded to a sudden death at a residence on Victoria St. E., and located the deceased, 45-year-old Trevor Benns.
Today police executed a search warrant at a residence on Christie Crescent in Barrie and arrested the suspects.
Three people, including two Barrie residents, face combined charges including manslaughter, drug trafficking and negligence causing death.
They’ve been held pending bail hearings.
Police say they also seized 22 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 6 grams of fentanyl and $4,500 cash.
