Our area has its first case of COVID-19.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says a man in his 40s who recently returned from Germany and Spain is self-isolating and recovering at home.
The man was tested at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Monday, March 9.
The health unit says the hospital took all necessary infection and control measures for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Ontario has 17 new cases of COVID 19.
That includes the man in Barrie.
The infected people range in age from a boy under one year who was taken to North York General Hospital to a man in his 70s in Mississauga.
All 17 patients are in self-isolation.
