The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has mailed over 2000 suspension orders home to students in Grades 2 & 8 reminding parents that their child’s immunization information needs to be updated before February 27.
In Ontario, up to date immunization records are required for all students and it is the responsibility of a parent to report immunizations to their health unit.
If records are not up to date, students can face suspension.

The health unit can support parents who may have questions related to updating immunization for students and offers immunization clinics for those who need to catch up on immunizations and aren’t able to schedule appointments with their health care provider.
