A fundraiser is being held in Orillia this weekend to raise money for the Red Cross, with funds being directed to fighting Australian Bush Fires.
Eclectic Café and The Fifty Acre Garden (39 Mississauga St, West) is hosting the event tomorrow from 9am-3pm.
You can enjoy a silent auction, make a personal donation, or enjoy a sweet treat made specifically for the event, with proceeds going directly to the cause.
Organizer Lauren McEachern says, “In 2016 our family was evacuated from forest fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta. It was an extremely emotionally and financially challenging time.”
She added, “It cemented for me how absolutely devastating this experience can be; but I can also say that I have lived these Red Cross programs in Canada and can speak to their impact.”
