A 13-year-old Barrie boy is now facing criminal charges, after he allegedly brought a gun to school.
Officers were called to Nouvelle Alliance Catholic Secondary School yesterday morning, after a real firearm (a shotgun) was located in a musical instrument case.
The accused, who police say is a student at the school, was not there when officers arrived, but was taken into custody a short time later.
Police say the teen, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) has been charged with: careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and knowledge of authorized possession of a firearm.
He was released from custody last night and is due to appear in court late next month.
