Repairs to broken pipes in the outdoor rink in Wasaga Beach are to cost around 80 thousand dollars.
The money is coming from reserves.
On Thursday morning, a council committee voted unanimously in favour of going ahead with repairs as soon as possible.
Town staff say once a company is hired, the work should take a couple weeks, but with the holidays coming up, it may be mid-January before the repairs can be completed.
The issue is with two Header pipes in the rink system which is 46 years old.
