Yesterday was the first day of NHL Free Agent signings
Of note, several Owen Sound Attack alumni were involved in the process.
Wayne Simmonds agreed to terms with the New Jersey Devils.
Former Devil Kurtis Gabriel signed a 2 way contract with Philadelphia.
Philadelphia also signed defender Chris Bigras.
The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Andrej Sekera
And defenceman Jake Dotchin was signed by the Stanley Cup Champion St Louis Blues to a 2 way contract.
Thompson Player of the Week
The Brian E. Wood Funeral Home-Bug Juice NorthStars Player of the Week is Riley Thompson.
Thompson had 3 goals including the go ahead marker in a win Friday over the KW Velocity.
Friday, the Bug Juice Senior NorthStars are at Waterloo to face the Velocity in a rematch.
