Families who experience an infant loss will have access to a CuddleCot at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
Aimiee Stephens and Katie Pereira, who both experienced the pain of infant loss, together fundraised $4,600 to buy the CuddleCot.
It's a bassinet that keeps a baby cool, slowing changes that occur after death, allowing family to have extra time to spend with their newborn, while aiding in the grieving process.
“What a better way to carry on the legacy of our sons, Dylan and Lincoln, than by helping other families in their desperate time of need,” said Aimie and Kate in a joint statement. “Our hope is that by having OSMH this CuddleCot, families who experience a loss will have just a little bit longer with their baby before saying goodbye.”
