Bracebridge is grappling with a grim weather forecast.
We caught up with Mayor Graydon Smith today above the Bracebridge Falls where waters continue to rage – he provided the latest update on area flooding.
Smith was heading into more emergency team meetings today and tomorrow, but he tells Country 102 he has concerns about the between 25 and 40 mm being forecasted for the area in the coming days and over 50mm in some localized areas…(above audio)
Smith says residents living in low lying areas may see things get a little worse in the coming days before they get better.
At a press conference this morning, he highlighted the Beaumont Farm area as one of those areas. Residents there should contact 2-1-1 after 1 pm today and let them know whether they intend to stay in their homes or leave, due to the current situation.
