Bracebridge OPP are working with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office in a joint investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Monday night’s Mitchell Lane fire in Bracebridge.
OPP Constable Jim Reading describes the blaze as having caused “a massive loss” for the property, which is located on Weismuller Lake.
A summer home and two cars were destroyed by flames there Monday night.
Police quickly deemed the property an active crime scene and started their investigation.
Both the Bracebridge and Gravenhurst Fire departments fought the blaze. They say flooded roads and geography hampered their response Monday evening.
Reading says police are working with the Fire Marshall’s Office today at the property looking to answer some key questions about what led to the fire.
