One of the County of Simcoe's largest tree planting efforts in decades is underway.
Over 150,000 seedlings will be planted during the next week in the Musuem Tract of county forest in Midhurst.
Last September, the County conducted a controlled burn of 30 hectares to make room for the new trees.
The restoration project is also being done to provide a suitable nesting habitat for the Kirtland Warbler by 2023; the migratory bird is an an endangered species and was nearly extinct 50 years ago.
