Simcoe North municipalities are receiving a one-time investment of $5.2 million from the Ford government to improve local service delivery and efficiency.
In the area of efficiencies, the province says examples include IT solutions, capital investments, service delivery reviews, development of shared services or other projects.
Municipalities will decide on how to best target funding to benefit their local communities.
The City of Orillia is receiving just over $520,000, while its neighbours, Ramara, Severn and Oro-Medonte will each receive more than $676,000.
The County of Simcoe will pocket $725,000.
