Doug Ford didn't break any rules when offering the OPP Commissioners job to Ron Taverner.
That ruling came from the provinces Integrity Commissioner today regarding the Ontario Premiers now-aborted controversial hiring of Taverner.
However, the Integrity Commissioner did find the process are “troubling.”
This process began last fall when the Ford Government announced the hiring of the 72-year-old Toronto Police Superintendent.
Ford said he counts Taverner as a friend which lead to complaints from opposition legislators and Deputy OPP Commissioner Brad Blair.
Taverner rescinded his resignation from Toronto police because of the outcry and later withdrew his name from consideration for the job.
Earlier this month the province announced, a deputy chief at York Regional Police Thomas Carrique, would become the new OPP Commissioner.
